Marsland Mouth, North Devon
Marsland Mouth, North Devon
Marsland Mouth is located in an extremely remote part of north Devon, and is accessible only by foot – either via a short (but strenuous) walk from nearby Welcombe Mouth, or a three-mile round trip from a local inn. The shoreline is always deserted, and offers excellent examples of folding in sandstone and mudstone rocks, a clearly defined storm beach, and a sea arch nearby. The stream at Marsland marks the boundary between the counties of Devon and Cornwall, and there is a Devon Wildlife Trust nature reserve to explore.
