Avebury

Avebury, near Marlborough in Wiltshire, is a World Heritage Site containing a Neolithic henge and a number of stone circles. Close by, and part of the same World Heritage Site, is Silbury Hill – the world’s largest prehistoric chalk-built mound. A short stroll from Silbury takes you to West Kennet Long Barrow, another significant Neolithic site – one of the largest and best preserved examples of a chambered tomb in southern England.
