New online lectures, videos and resources for A level and IB students

Royal Holloway Department of Geography, University of London, have recently launched their Teacher Hub for geography teachers and their students. It features a wide range of free resources for those studying geography at A level and IB. They include high quality knowledge boosters with videos, and longer online lectures in the Geography for Schools lecture series presented by expert academics. Recent lectures include Understanding Volcanic Hazards, Introduction to Climates and Climate Change, and Global Systems and Governance which uses Antarctica as a case study. Lectures can be watched live or viewed later through the dedicated YouTube Channel.

The teacher resources area includes downloadable class activities and lecture summaries for topics such as Drylands and Contemporary Urban environments. Students who are considering studying geography in Higher Education can view short talks about the subject, geography fieldwork trips and life at Royal Holloway, and take a virtual campus tour.

These high-quality presentations and lectures with stunning images and relevant graphs and charts merit study both by classes and individual students. They can experience University style lectures and will be encouraged to think beyond the textbooks and into the real world.
