FREE resources for schools from RGS-IBG!
There are some fantastic modules/schemes of work or learning to download for FREE from the RGS-IBG's website, mostly geared towards Key Stage 2 and many including exemplars of pupils' work, which could assist with internal moderation and assessment too (https://www.rgs.org/schools/teaching-resources/).
Steve Brace, Head of Education and Outdoor Learning at the RGS-IBG, suggests that Key Stage 2 teachers/Geography Subject Leaders explore the following initially, which cover common themes taught in primary schools across the UK at this moment in time (https://www.rgs.org/schools/teaching-resources/?categories=Keystage2&loadall=0&pageindex=1):
- Rivers;
- Mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes;
- The United Kingdom;
- The Mediterranean;
- The United States of America;
- Brazil;
- Map skills.
If anyone would like further help with their curriculum building to ensure effective coverage, sequencing and progression, then do get in touch (emma.espley@gmail.com). Examples of recent bespoke CPD that I have delivered can be found here:
