Valley of the Rocks, North Devon

Valley of the Rocks

The Valley of the Rocks is located on the north Devon coast, just one kilometre to the west of the town of Lynton. This circular walk takes in a section of the South West Coast Path, and totals 5 miles in length - although the shorter version reduces the distance to 3 miles. The Valley of the Rocks is a unique periglacial dry valley that runs parallel to the coastline, and there is still some doubt over how it has been created. The walk takes in coastal sandstone tors, and high hog’s back cliffs that offer stunning views over the north Devon coastline.
